The Support at Home program, set to roll out in two phases starting July 2025, aims to revolutionise home care services for older Australians. Key changes include:
Replacement of Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) with a new model
Introduction of 8 package levels for more granular care allocation
90-day upfront funding cycles
Fee-for-service billing model
A standardised Service List that includes defined Service Categories and Service Types to be utilised for all future claims.
Replacement of Income Tested Fees (ITF) with a Client Contribution model based on the Service Category.
Requirement for all Claims to include line-item levels of detail
Staged release of price caps for all services identified in the Service List on 1 July 2026
