Baptcare, one of Australia’s largest providers of Aged Care and community services, launched a transformative 5-year $22m+ program aimed at modernising its In-Home Care services as part of its 2030 strategy.

The goal was to build a competitive edge by developing an end-to-end Community Care Platform (CCP), with a significant focus on enhancing data analytics and business intelligence (BI).

This transformation required strategic partnerships, with Blue Bike playing a pivotal role in delivering technology solutions and expertise.

The Challenge

Baptcare recognised the need to modernise its Home Care service delivery and infrastructure to stay competitive in the evolving sector.

The organisation aimed to create a Community Care Platform that could integrate multiple data sources, improve data analytics capabilities, and provide real-time, actionable insights to support better decision-making across various departments.

The challenge was to transform data management processes, ensure seamless system integration, and deliver insights for improved operational efficiency.

The Solution

From 2021 to 2024, Baptcare partnered with Blue Bike to address its critical needs for data expertise and senior-level resources. Blue Bike provided a team of experienced professionals, including lead architects, release managers, project managers, scrum masters, data analysts, engineers, business analysts, and test leads, fulfilling key roles in a Scaled Agile environment.

Creation of Snowflake data warehouses and datasets across development, testing, and production environments using SQL.

Development of PowerBI dashboards, delivering enterprise-wide coverage and enabling timely, accurate reporting across sales, finance, workforce, operations, service delivery, and quality assurance.

Providing continuous user support and end-user training for newly implemented systems and tools.

Blue Bike Outcomes

The partnership between Baptcare and Blue Bike led to the creation of a Data Centre of Excellence, embedded within Baptcare’s new IT Operating Model, built on the foundation of the CCP programme.

Real-time data integration

The integration of Snowflake with Salesforce enabled seamless data flow, reducing delivery timelines by over three months and eliminating the need for manual data migration.

Award-winning solution

In 2022, Baptcare won the Asia/Pac Healthcare Transformation award from Boomi for the innovative solution that brought real-time data from Snowflake to Salesforce, saving costs and streamlining operations.

Security and compliance

A robust security model was implemented, ensuring data privacy and compliance with industry regulations and Baptcare’s architectural and cybersecurity principles.
The project resulted in the development of 50+ business dashboards, aggregating data from over 10 major business systems. This enabled better decision-making and provided a comprehensive view of Baptcare’s operations, improving service delivery and operational efficiency.

The successful delivery of the CCP programme has solidified Baptcare’s position as an industry leader in leveraging data-driven insights for business improvement.
